What Does It Mean To Be A Foster Family?
Becoming a foster family means opening your home and your heart to children in need. Experienced foster parents will tell you that becoming a foster family is both challenging and rewarding. Few things in life can equal the satisfaction of positively impacting the lives of children.

Who are These Children?
Most of the children placed in CFN foster homes are in the custody of the Child Protective Services (CPS) Division of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). To some degree they all have experienced some form of emotional or physical trauma, either by abuse or neglect, and the stress of being separated from their family.
What Is The Foster Family Verification Process?
The CFN foster family verification process includes an assessment, begun during the initial home inspection, completion of the foster family application, background checks, training and a home study. The CFN pre-service checklist provides additional detailed information regarding the foster family verification process.
What Foster Family Support Services Does CFN Provide?
CFN foster families have the dedicated support of their own professional case manager, the CFN Family Services Division, CFN clinical staff, CFN administrative staff and other CFN foster families. CFN also ensures that other necessary professional services are available to the children in our care, including licensed therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, doctors and dentists.
Professional CFN staff members are always only a telephone call away, 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
